VISITS TO PARLIAMENT ARE CURRENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO THE COVID19 OUTBREAK.
Anyone can visit the Houses of Parliament – which belong to the people of Britain – and join a commercial tour at the time and date of your choice by ringing 020 7219 4114 or on the website here.
Alternatively, I can arrange permits for individual constituents or groups of constituents to tour the Palace of Westminster free of charge. Please email me on richard.graham.mp@parliament.uk or call on 01452 501167 if you would like a tour arranged, remembering that these tours can get booked up well in advance and sometimes we have to wait for confirmation.
How Tours Work
Tours run most days at the following times:
Monday – 0900-1200 – Whole route
Tuesday – 0900 – 0955 – Whole route. 000-1200 Lords end only
Wednesday – 0900-0920 Whole route. 0925-1200 Lords end only
Thursday – NO TOURS
Friday – 1530-1700 – Whole route
During recess, free tours are less readily available.
The public entrance to the Houses of Parliament is through St. Stephen’s entrance in Old Palace Yard opposite the back of Westminster Abbey. The nearest tube is Westminster. We recommend that you allow 30 minutes to clear security.
Big Ben
Unfortunately Big Ben (Elizabeth Tower) tours are not available as the Tower was closed for maintenance from December 2016 for around three years.
Want to attend a debate?
If you wish to sit in on a debate in either the House of Commons or House of Lords, tickets should be obtained well in advance, normally 7 to 8 weeks.
I can obtain tickets for constituents or you can queue outside St. Stephen’s Entrance. I am unlikely to be able to get tickets for Prime Minister’s Questions, which is very popular.
School Visits
The Parliamentary Education Service also arranges a series of visits for school groups which include a discussion about the history of Parliament and the political process. This can be arranged through my office or you can call them on 0207 219 4496.
