Gloucester’s MP Richard Graham said, ‘Younger rail passengers can now benefit from cheaper rail fares, allowing them to keep more money in their pockets and helping them get to school, college and work.
It is great news for 16- and 17-year olds as the brand new 16-17 Saver railcard will be launched next week and will guarantee half-price travel for young people, saving families an average of £186 every year.
Richard added, ‘The long summer holidays offer opportunities to see family and friends outside Gloucester, and lower train fares make this more possible for some.’
